While the law recently changed to permitless carry, none of the other laws about where, when, and how you may carry or use a firearm for personal defense have changed. Rather than the State requiring you to take a class to learn these details, the responsibility is now totally on you to know the law.
Furthermore, your right to carry without a permit ends at the state line; an Ohio Carry Permit is currently recognized and honored in 39 other States!
Lastly, having a Carry Permit tells the authorities - especially the Prosecutor - that you're trained, tested, and passed a State and FBI background check. You're not just some yahoo with a gun. That may be crucial to your legal defense if you are ever involved in a self-defense incident.
This course goes far beyond the minimum requirements of the State. This classroom/live-fire class covers everything from the history and development of firearms, basic handling and safety, home defense and personal protection (the reality and myths), Ohio's use of deadly force laws, how to select a firearm, different ways to carry, to where and how to seek additional training.
Everything you need to take the class is included: firearm, ammunition, holster, protective gear, etc. There are no hidden fees - no range fee, no gun rental, no purchasing ammo - we provide it all!

Federal law does not always recognize State permitless carry in the same manner as it does a State Concealed Carry permit. It is important you know the differences lest an honest mistake become a federal offense.
